Mark Stutrud to Retire as LSSI President/CEO

LSSI Board of Directors Chair Esther Macchione recently announced President and CEO Mark Stutrud’s retirement, effective February 28, 2027, concluding over 12 years of dedicated leadership.

Stutrud’s tenure has been marked by significant growth, innovation, and impact. Under his leadership, LSSI launched and expanded programs that have transformed lives across Illinois, including Therapeutic Foster Care, Healthy Start Recovery Homes in Chicago and Elgin, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic services, expanded Intact Family Services, the Families Together Pilot, and a 10th group home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“I am most grateful for our efforts to help lead LSSI’s evolution toward GenCare, our commitment to engaging, surrounding, and connecting both the person-served and the person-serving, while promoting dignity, enhancing health and well-being, and helping people reach their full potential,” Stutrud said. “Together we have built a strong foundation that will serve LSSI into the future.”

More information about the leadership search and opportunities to celebrate Stutrud’s legacy will be shared in the months ahead.
