Emergency Foster Parent Program
For when a child is in immediate need, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) seeks individuals or families to participate in its Emergency Foster Home Program. Emergency Foster Parents provide for youth who are in immediate need of a short-term, transitional home until a permanent placement home is found. The program is offered at six LSSI locations, including Aurora, Champaign, Chicago, Marion, Rockford, and West Peoria.
Emergency Foster Parents fill an immediate need by providing a stable and nurturing home for a youth in care for 30 to 60 days. They are part of a committed team that meets regularly to identify the needs of the child to ensure a successful transition to a permanent home. Emergency Foster Parents are mentors and role models who help ensure youth feel cared for and goal focused for their future.
