LSSI offers two retirement communities in Aurora for seniors with low incomes, including Assisi Homes of Downer Place—a comfortable, safe, and affordable apartment-style building with amenities for older adults to live on their own.
Assisi Homes of Downer Place offers 79 one-bedroom apartments along with four (4) units designated for individuals who require the features of a barrier-free unit. The neighborhood location is within walking distance of stores and restaurants.
Residents must be 62 years or older and meet specific income guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Rent is based on 30% of the resident’s adjusted annual income.
