Lisa Seymour, MS/P, MDiv, Associate Executive Director of Program Support at Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), was honored recently by the Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce with its Excellence in Leadership Award at the chamber’s Women in Business Luncheon.
Seymour was one of four Rockford-area women honored by the chamber on Nov. 7, 2024. Criteria for the award included leadership skills, personal and professional growth, demonstrated support of other women in business, and contributions to an organization’s success.
Seymour is part of LSSI’s Children’s Community Services (CCS) team, leading foster care recruitment, counseling, and therapeutic foster care staff who provide safe, nurturing care to the organization’s youngest clients.
Seymour is passionate about empowering, elevating, and supporting staff. “I want each team member to fulfill their professional and personal goals,” she said. “I do this by not just telling them but also showing them by my actions.”
Serving LSSI since 2017, in progressively senior roles, Seymour is driven by ambition and making a difference. “I have cherished every role I’ve held,” she said. “My current position opens doors for me to make a meaningful impact—not just on our clients but also on our incredible team members who serve them.”
Seymour finds inspiration in the LSSI mission. “I am driven to empower and equip the next generation through the transformative power of the gospel,” she said. “This role gives me the perfect platform to guide and support team members as they pursue their professional aspirations.”
