The Intersection of Transracial Adoption & Racial (in)Justice

Adoption Support & Preservation (ASAP) programs across Illinois, including Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) are hosting a series of workshops for parents and professionals about transracial adoption. The workshops, titled The Intersection of Transracial Adoption & Racial (in)Justice will feature author Angela Tucker who wrote the book You Should Be Grateful, Stories of Race Identity, and Transracial Adoption. The free event is virtual or in-person at two of LSSI’s Children’s Community Services Offices at 3000 W. Rohmann, West Peoria or 4646 38th Ave., Moline on three consecutive Wednesdays, May 7, 14, and 21 from 10 a.m. to noon. Those attending in-person will receive lunch and  a copy of Tucker’s book. Free CEUs available for social workers or counselors who attend in-person. Registration required.
