The Intersection of Transracial Adoption & Racial (in)Justice

Adoption Support & Preservation (ASAP) programs across Illinois, including Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) are hosting a series of workshops for parents and professionals about transracial adoption. The workshops, titled The Intersection of Transracial Adoption & Racial (in)Justice will feature author Angela Tucker who wrote the book You Should Be Grateful, Stories of Race Identity, and Transracial Adoption. The free event is virtual or in-person at two of LSSI’s Children’s Community Services Offices at 3000 W. Rohmann, West Peoria or 4646 38^th Ave., Moline on three consecutive Wednesdays, May 7, 14, and 21 from 10 a.m. to noon. Those attending in-person will receive lunch and  a copy of Tucker’s book. Free CEUs available for social workers or counselors who attend in-person. Registration required.
