Recently, Home Care Assistants (HCAs) at Intouch Home Care Services of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) underwent mandatory CPR/first-aid instruction, empowering staff with valuable life-saving skills.
The training, provided by LSSI’s Learning and Development staff and Intouch leadership, who had previously been certified through the American Red Cross, ensures that Home Care Assistants feel supported, prepared, and confident in the care they provide.
Serving Cook County, Intouch enables older adults to live safely and independently in their homes. Intouch Home Care Assistants help keep clients comfortable in their homes through personal care such as bathing and grooming; recovery care like medication reminders and emotional support; household care in the way of light housekeeping and meal preparation; memory care to keep clients safe; companion care for one-on-one interaction, and respite care that allows caregivers a break.
“This required in-service CPR training offers Intouch clients and their loved ones peace of mind,” said Mary Ann Bibat, Executive Director of Senior and Disability Services. “Our Home Care Assistants feel supported, prepared, and confident in the care they provide.”
