Storybook Volunteer Training for Dixon Correctional Center

The Storybook Project enables parents who are incarcerated to record themselves reading a book to their children. Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) provides training and coordinates the recording visits for volunteers, and then sends the book and recording to the children.

A training will be held for volunteers on Friday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LSSI’s Sterling office, 1901 1st Ave., Sterling, to provide volunteers who can make recordings at Dixon Correctional Center. RSVPs are requested to Kevin.Copeland@LSSI.org. Lunch will be provided.
