Marion Mommy and Son Dance to Benefit Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) Foster Parent Support Services

Music, balloon animals, a photo booth, and a candy buffet are a few of the fun highlights in store for the Mommy and Son Dance, Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pavilion of the City of Marion, 1602 Sioux Drive, Marion. Proceeds from the event will benefit the foster parent support services that are part of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) southern region.

Tickets are $30 per couple (mommy/son) and $10 for each additional child or adult. There are a limited number of tickets available. Tickets can be purchased by calling (618) 993-1470 or (618) 922-6767, or in person at Stephaney’s Bargain Boutique, 700 E. Main, Marion.

The benefit is being organized by a local couple to support the programs of LSSI. Founded in 1867, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is a statewide, not-for-profit social service agency of the three Illinois synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). LSSI is the largest social service provider in the state, and one of the largest foster care providers in Illinois. LSSI cares for approximately 10 percent of all foster children in the Illinois child welfare system. Last year, LSSI served a total of 73,000 people through 190 programs at 85 sites across Illinois. LSSI’s southern region has offices in Marion, Vienna, and Harrisburg.
