Thank you! We are so grateful to all the congregations that upheld our ministry partnership on Good Shepherd/LSSI Sunday.

If the May 7th date didn’t fit into your congregation's calendar, there is still time for you to celebrate with us any time during the season of Easter.

On Good Shepherd Sunday, many congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) across the state celebrate their shared social ministry with Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI).

Jesus the Good Shepherd cared for his sheep by feeding them, healing them and reconciling them to themselves, their families and their communities.

Today, LSSI serves over 73,000 people — of all ages, races, incomes, and religions — helping them to address important needs and make essential changes in their lives.

Through LSSI — and the churches that support this ministry — the love of Jesus continues to transform the lives of people in Illinois. Each day, congregations help LSSI advance our shared mission of bringing "healing, justice, and wholeness to people and communities."
