Good Shepherd Sunday is April 22

Please plan now to celebrate LSSI during the 2018 Easter season. We will have a new video and other resources available for your congregation to use on April 22 or on another Sunday during the Easter season.

On Good Shepherd Sunday, many congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) across the state celebrate their shared social ministry with Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI).

Jesus the Good Shepherd cared for his sheep by feeding them, healing them and reconciling them to themselves, their families and their communities.

Today, LSSI serves almost 50,000 people — of all ages, races, incomes, and religions — helping them to address important needs and make essential changes in their lives.

Through LSSI — and the churches that support this ministry — the love of Jesus continues to transform the lives of people in Illinois. Each day, congregations help LSSI advance our shared mission of bringing “healing, justice, and wholeness to people and communities.”
