Good Shepherd Sunday is May 12

[Jesus said] “My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:27-28

On Good Shepherd Sunday, many congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) across the state celebrate their shared social ministry with Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI).

Please plan now to celebrate with LSSI during the 2019 Easter season. We will have a new video and other resources available for your congregation to use on May 12 or on another Sunday during the Easter season.

Just as God sees each person in their entirety, LSSI seeks to provide whole person care to those receiving our services. The faithfulness of congregations like yours is critically important in this work.

Lenten Offering Through Personal Fundraising Pages

During this season of Lent and leading up to Good Shepherd Sunday, please consider a special Lenten offering that involves friends and family to support three critical programs at LSSI through a personal fundraising page. Click on a program below for which you would like to fundraise and then click “start fundraising” to begin—the pages are yours to personalize. Once you set up a page, it’s easy to share the link through email or social media. A generous donor has provided a matching gift up to $5,000 for each program, meaning that your fundraising efforts will be doubled! Click on your chosen program below to begin!
