LSSI is grateful to the following foundations for their generous grants that support a variety of programming across Illinois.

Helen Brach Foundation presented a check for $10,000 to support LSSI's Prisoner and Family Ministry, including Visits to Mom, Storybook Project, and Employment Skills School. The Helen Brach foundation generously donates to Chicago organizations that support education, literacy, animal cruelty prevention, youth services, and arts and culture.

The Lutheran Services for Children Endowment at the ELCA Foundation made a grant of $25,000 to support Spanish Language translation of LSSI's Lifebooks for children in foster care. The endowment was dedicated by its donors, Olaf A. Berge & Thilda Randine Berge and Sylvan L. Rembold to services and ministries with children as provided by programs of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Telegin Community Initiatives (TCI), an Iowa-based private charitable foundation, made a first-time grant of $50,000 to LSSI's Behavioral Health Hospital Model. The project was one of only 13 grants within the state selected for TCI’s 2016 Illinois funding. TCI received more than 141 grant requests for the Illinois-based grant cycle, awarding a cumulative total of $536,540 to 13 organizations.
