LSSI Accredited by BBB Wise Giving Alliance
To assure our donors that their contributions are being used wisely, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) applied for – and recently received – accreditation by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance. To obtain this accreditation, the BBB thoroughly researched and examined the agency to make sure it complies with strict accountability standards in how it is governed and spends money, its truthfulness in how the agency represents itself and in its transparency in disclosure of business practices to the public. LSSI is one of the few agencies to undergo this rigorous 20-point process and be accredited in Illinois.

Visioning Process Leads to Updated Focus for LSSI
LSSI’s recent visioning process, which involved gathering input from more than 1,000 individuals – donors, employees, volunteers and collaborative partners from church and community – resulted in three key outcomes. These included a deepened commitment to LSSI’s mission “. . .of bringing healing, justice and wholeness to people and communities,” a shift to a more collaborative and creative way of working as partners in addressing needs and creating change, and the development of a strategy combining LSSI’s mission, guiding principles and strategic directions.
