Intouch Home Care Services
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) provides Intouch Home Care Services to assist older adults who wish to stay in their homes and need some help to do so.
We tailor our services to the unique needs of each individual and work with families to develop an appropriate plan of care for their loved ones. With the client's permission, we update the family on their parent's changing needs. We can provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer's and other dementia. We can also provide home care assistance during hospice care. By helping your loved ones with their day-to-day needs, we can relieve the stress and worry associated with caregiving.
Pauline, one of our home care clients, says, "I am writing you to tell you what a wonderful person [my home care assistant] is. She is a hard worker, and is always positive. I told her what I wanted her to do the first day she was here. The second day she arrived with a smile on her face and dug right in to the cleaning. She makes my oatmeal while she is putting dishes in the dishwasher. She then helps me with my bath. She does not make me feel embarrassed. She is wonderful, indeed. I am truly impressed with this lady. She is my little Angel."
Our services include:
Meal planning/preparation
- Prepare grocery list, including clipping coupons
- Prepare and clean up after meals
Personal care
- Monitor diet and eating
- Assist with morning wake-up and evening bedtime
- Provide assistance with hair care
- Provide medication reminders
- Pick up prescriptions and do other errands
- Arrange appointments
- Household tasks
- Change and wash bed linens
- Launder and iron clothing
- Vacuum and dust
Wellness
- Assist with LifeBalancesm, a wellness program sponsored by LSSI
- Assist with walking and exercising
- Promote "brain fitness" (e.g., discuss current events)
Companionship at home or wherever the individual resides
- Provide respite care
- Provide companionship and conversation
- Provide emotional support
- Assist with reading favorite book, story or letter
- Provide help with entertaining
- Provide help with pet care
