The Women's Network

For nearly 30 years -- responding to Christ’s love -- members of The Women’s Network of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) have provided dedicated and effective support for LSSI’s programs and services.

The Women’s Network hosts two major fundraising events each year. The group also distributes gifts to children served by LSSI, promotes awareness of the agency’s programs and current needs, encourages advocacy and fosters fellowship.

Members come primarily from the Metro Chicago area, and participate in a wide range of volunteer opportunities. They assume leadership positions in the Network; assist in hands-on activities, such as an annual Holiday Party for LSSI foster children; and plan fundraising events. Members also collect gift cards, supplies and various in-kind gifts, which are then distributed to the children, youth and adults served by LSSI. All of these activities support and strengthen LSSI’s mission of bringing healing, justice and wholeness to people and communities.

Through the annual Forget-Me-Not Brunch and Fashion Show, held in the spring, and the annual Amicus Certus (true friend) Celebration, held in the fall. The Women’s Network has raised more than $2.9 million for LSSI programs and services.

Meetings are held four times each year, along with opportunities to visit LSSI program sites and participate on various committees. Annual membership dues are $30.

Membership in the The Women’s Network of LSSI provides a meaningful opportunity to serve people in need and to meet other women who care about making a difference. Consider joining us!
