Legacy Gifts

How do you want to be remembered? What do you want your legacy to be? You can create that legacy by making a gift that will reach into the future. This gift can be designed specifically to support a program or service near and dear to your heart or to allow Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) to use it where the need is greatest.

LSSI has a long, faithful history of serving people. We have been called to respond with compassion to the needs of our neighbors, and it is only with your help that we can continue to assist the many individuals and families throughout Illinois who come to us for care and services.

Careful gift planning is a way to create a lasting legacy and help you meet your financial and charitable goals.

What are legacy gifts?

Legacy gifts are also sometimes called planned gifts, because they require thoughtful and deliberate planning. These gifts include those made through your will, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts, gifts of life insurance, gifts from bank or investment accounts, and gifts of retirement plans.

What is The Cornerstone Society?

Inaugurated in 1989, The Cornerstone Society is made up of individuals and families who, through thoughtful and generous planning, help to ensure that future generations of Illinoisans will continue to receive the services they need from Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.

The Cornerstone Society gives LSSI an opportunity to recognize and thank individuals and families who have made a planned gift. Membership in the Society is open to all who notify LSSI that a planned gift has been made and to those who make leadership gifts to The Cornerstone Foundation.

Please e-mail Maryann.Aimone@LSSI.org or call her at at 847/635-4671 to learn more about the benefits of leaving a legacy to LSSI.
