Crisis Intervention for Youth and Families

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) provides services for youth who may be at risk for, or who are, runaways, locked out of their homes or experiencing problems at home or school, or in the community. These services are available to residents of Carroll, Lee, Ogle and Whiteside Counties:

  • Comprehensive Community-Based Youth Services (CCBYS) provides short-term intervention for adolescents and their families who are experiencing a locked-out or runaway situation. The goal of these services is to assist the child and family in resolving the conflict and reunifying the family.

  • Donated Funds Initiative (DFI) provides outpatient counseling to youth and their families who are experiencing difficulties with the goal of preventing a locked-out or runaway situation, as well as follow-up counseling to a crisis situation. The counseling may occur in an office, school or home setting.

Both of these programs are funded through the Illinois Department of Health Services (DHS). They also have been supported through local funding from county boards and/or probation departments.

LSSI is an Illinois Licensed Child Welfare Agency - License #013005.
