Intouch Adult Day Services, Moline

Visit our new Intouch Home Care Services site www.homecare.lssi.orgThe Intouch Adult Day Center in Moline, a program of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI), provides active seniors and other adults who are socially isolated or who are not safe alone at home with a comfortable, safe environment to spend their days. The program also gives caregivers peace-of-mind and respite from their caregiving responsibilities, which is especially helpful to caregivers who work. Adult Day Services also helps seniors and families by preventing premature placement of elders in long-term care facilities.

The center serves a wide range of clients, with a focus on the following groups:

  • Active Adults
  • Special Touch for those people living with Alzheimer’s or another dementias
  • Community Helpers Program (ChiPs) for individuals 18 years old and older who have sustained brain injuries

The center occupies 21,000 square feet and offers several activity rooms, an enclosed garden area and a secure Alzheimer’s section with four activity rooms. Intouch Adult Day provides its participants with things to do, people to see and talk to, a good, nutritious noon meal and, if needed, medical and personal care.

What is a typical day like for Intouch Adult Day Services participants?

Intouch participants are greeted each morning with a cup of coffee and an opportunity to socialize. A variety of enjoyable and interesting programs are offered throughout the day, and there are also opportunities for rest. We provide a hot noon meal that contains one-third of daily nutritional requirement (special diets can be accommodated). Appropriate outings are also planned. If you like, we would be happy to provide you with a sample menu and our monthly calendar of events.

How can I determine if Intouch Adult Services is the right choice for my loved one?

One of our experienced staff members would be happy to meet with you and your loved one to assess his or her care needs at no cost. We also recommend you discuss the option of adult day services with your loved one’s physician.

What are Intouch’s hours of operation?

Intouch Adult Day Services is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

How much does Intouch cost?

The cost depends on a couple of factors: type and amount of medical and personal services needed, and whether or not we will be providing transportation to and from our site. At the time of the initial assessment, an individualized care plan is established, and fees are discussed.

Does Medicare cover some or all of the cost?

Unfortunately, Medicare does not currently cover the cost of adult day service. However, other possible payment sources are available and are discussed at the initial assessment. If the individual carries long-term care insurance, we suggest discussing possible coverage with the insurance agent.

Can we change days of attendance if needed?

Yes, days of attendance can be changed. The participant or the participant’s caregiver chooses days of attendance at the time of the initial assessment, but we understand the need for flexibility. We ask that schedule changes be discussed in advance to allow us to plan accordingly. If we cannot accommodate a schedule change, you will be notified.
