Volunteering at LSSI

Would you like to make a difference in someone’s life? You can by becoming a volunteer for Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI).

LSSI has volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. Whether you volunteer once a year, once a month or once a week, the contribution of your time and talents is both needed and appreciated.

Volunteering is something you can do by yourself or with family and friends, in your congregation or at one of LSSI’s facilities. And by volunteering, you help LSSI achieve its mission of bringing healing, justice and wholeness to people throughout Illinois.

Volunteer opportunities include – but are not limited to – the following activities:

  • Assisting with activities at Head Start sites
  • Doing a crafts activity with seniors
  • Landscaping and painting projects at program sites
  • Providing administrative support to a program
  • Collecting items for people in need

If you would like to volunteer, fill out our online contact form or download the Volunteer Application Form [PDF] and return it by fax (847/635-6764) or mail it to: Volunteers, LSSI, 1001 E. Touhy Ave., Suite 50, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
