I am pleased to welcome you to LSSI.org, the Web site of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI). Our agency helps people — of all ages, races, incomes and religions — address important needs and make essential changes in their lives.

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois has been caring for people in need for more than 140 years, since The Children’s Home at Andover — the forerunner of LSSI — was founded on the western prairie of Illinois in October 1867. Today, LSSI, the statewide social service agency of the three synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), serves nearly 57,000 people at 89 locations throughout Illinois.

Think of this homepage as your gateway to an amazing variety of services for the people of Illinois — children, families and adults of all ages. We’ve made this homepage to be as easy as possible to use, with general descriptions and drop-down links to additional, more specific information.
